Our trip to Spencer park

W.A.L.T Write an information report that informs the audience.

Success Criteria
I know I will be successful when….
  • I use an opening statement that explains the subject of the report.

  • The opening statement is followed by sentences that describe the event; what you saw, what you did, how you felt, what you learnt.
  • Each paragraph focuses on a different aspect of the topic; travelling, the beach, the lagoon walk, playground.
  • A general statement about the topic usually rounds off the report.

Our trip to Spencer Park On Friday we went to Spencer park. I was in the bus with Lyan and we played games. When we got there I saw my old school (South Hornby) the teachers gave us a number mine was 3D first we played in the playground. I saw all my friends Sandra, Mikayla, Ayla, Nikki and all my others. Then my group went on a quick walk to a lookout to see a beautiful sight of a lagoon.then we had a snack. After the snack we went to a bird look out we saw a big bird it had long legs to stand in the swamp and if it did not have long legs it would sink in the swamp. So we went on and then we went back to the playground and they called our names to get a bit of fruit. The fruit that I got was an apple after when we all finished our fruit. We got back on the bus and went back to school. I was so tired I fell asleep on the couch

The Present

WALT: Write a narrative

Success Criteria
I know I will be successful when….
  • The title is suitable for the text.
  • The orientation tells who the story is about, and when and where the story happened.
  • The complication describes a problem and explains what happened next.
  • The resolution explains how the problem was solved.

In class we had to re-write a story about a boy opening a box that had a puppy with three legs in it. This is the original link: http://www.literacyshed.com/the-present.html

The present
One day I was on the Xbox and then my mum came with a box. I ignored her and kept playing.
Then she opened the curtains. Mum stopped. Just then the phone rang. Are you going to open it? "Oh", I replied. So I slowly opened it but before I even did a puppy jumped out. "Haha" I said but I saw he only had three legs. I was so mad I threw him away.

The puppy was acting very clumsy and found a bright red ball. I played with it. I looked at him for 4 seconds and played again so looked at him again. I saw him he looked really cute. So I turned off the Xbox and got my crutches and told mum that I will be outside. I got the red ball and the puppy followed me outside. I told mum I will be outside and so we played fetch all afternoon. I'm happy that I have someone like me because I was the only one who had a disabled leg, but now he's here with me.

Cyber Smart DLO

On Thursday 2nd March  my school went to the Hornby High to see a man called John Parsons. He told us that you must never tell your personal stuff, and don't talk to strangers, and do not leave your front door open. If you take a picture of your house and you car is in the picture scrub away the number plate and your house number or your house can get robbed.
